國際發表與合作

放眼歐美各國，早已於幾百年前即啟動音樂文獻的保存工作。20世紀中葉，專業社群紛紛成立，如1951年創立於巴黎的「國際音樂圖書館、檔案館與文獻中心協會」(International Association of Music Libraries, Archives, and Documentation Centers, IAML) 以及1969年由IAML影音小組擴增而成「國際聲音與音像典藏協會」(International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives, IASA) 等，為全球音樂文獻與影音檔案機構搭建起可以相互學習與成長的平臺，也逐步建立起處理各類音樂文獻的規範與依循標準。

有鑒於此，中心成立之初，即陸續邀請國內外音樂典藏相關領域之專家學者訪臺，透過講座、工作坊、選派專人赴國外機構訓練以及實務計畫執行等方式，積極培育人才；同時也定期參與國際音樂社群之年會會議發表，跟進國際間的腳步，觀摩學習並交流。

另一方面，中心亦與國內外具有數位典藏技術以及珍貴館藏的機構持續接觸與合作，例如：臺南奇美博物館、臺北歌劇劇場、國立傳統藝術中心臺灣音樂館、中研院數位文化中心、國發會檔案管理局等。國際交流與合作機構則包括：美國國會圖書館美國民俗中心 (American Folklife Center, LC)、美國華盛頓大學音樂圖書館 (Music Library, UW)、維也納留聲機檔案館 (Phonogrammarchiv)、德國東亞研究院 (Ostasien-Institut e.V., OAI)、美國印第安那大學傳統音樂檔案館 (Archive of Traditional Music, IU)、菲律賓民族音樂中心(The University of Philippine Center of Ethnomusicology, UPCE)、美國加州大學洛杉磯分校民族音樂學系榮譽教授Prof. Anthony Seeger、日本民族音樂學者山口修 (Osamu Yamaguchi) 教授與帛琉國家博物館 (Belau National Museum, BNM) 等。

2011年起，中心結合上海音樂學院、香港中央圖書館等兩岸三地代表性音樂典藏機構，推動「華人音樂文獻集藏計畫」，以保存華人地區珍貴音樂文獻為出發，借重這些年間在國際音樂典藏領域之經驗以及習得之最新觀念與技術，建立全球華人音樂文獻資源共建共享的合作網絡。2015年，在原有基礎上，共同加入全球最豐富，針對音樂手稿、樂譜、理論著作等文獻的線上目錄平臺「國際音樂文獻資源總目」(Répertoire International des Sources Musicales, RISM)，成立「RISM華語區工作小組」(RISM-Chinese Language Region)，持續建構成為華人地區音樂數位典藏領域之領導中心，與國際接軌。
